Having been in the Irish music scene for four decades. Mark has taken on a several rolls during his career. Starting in his parents band back in the 80’s on drums and backing vocals. Under the tutelage of his father who in his own right was a highly talented and respected jazz musician. Mark progressed to starting his own band and went professional. His career went from strength to strength and he soon became a highly respected musician himself in the Irish music scene. He soon progressed to television and radio performances and played for some of Irelands biggest showbands. He also played/toured in the USA, UAE, Spain and the Canary Islands. Mark then “hung up” his drum sticks and decided to front his band. This was in the late 80’s. he then formed “Drums n Wires”. This took off really well and progressed from small pub/social club band to the band being slowly drawn back to the bigger showband scene. More and more of the larger venues/dance halls were looking for them to play at their venues. So in 1995 Mark changed the name to The Bizz and did the transition. They went on to become one of the most popular bands on the circuit. Then as the music scene in ireland started to change the band progressed to the wedding and corporate market and has never looked back.
Bringing it forward to today. With the onset of Covid everything stopped and Mark found himself with “a lot of time on his hands” So he decided to learn to play guitar to keep himself busy. So out of the adversity that covid brought was born “Mark Acoustic” As per usual with Mark’s professionalism and talent his acoustic show is going down really well in pubs and afternoon sets at weddings. The feel that Mark is aiming for is one of a relaxed and warm atmosphere with the odd request thrown in.
